I am a Research Fellow working on Climate and Health at the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM. My research interests are in food systems sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa. I completed my PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), working on food systems resilience in low income settings. I also previously completed the MSc Nutrition for Global Health with Distinction and received the John Rivers Prize for outstanding achievement on the MSc at LSHTM in 2019. I am a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr.) with the Association for Nutrition, UK

Research
I currently work as Climate and Health Fellow on the Wellcome Trust funded Lancet Countdown project contributing to efforts to establish an African Regional Centre on Climate Change and Health. I am the lead PI on the Grand Challenges Africa supported project - DiGES which seeks to improve the production and consumption of fruit and vegetables by promoting climate smart approaches in The Gambia.
I was the local project lead on the Wellcome Trust funded project on food system adaptations to climate change – Africa (FACE-Africa) which sought to co-create food system solutions to climate change working with various stakeholders in food, agriculture, policymakers and local farmers.
